ECEP provides early childhood services to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at five centers in Berkeley and Albany. They offer a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment that sparks curiosity. They teach families and educators to see and unlock the potential of each child. Their staff of highly trained childhood educators give parents peace of mind – and assists them in balancing family, school, and work. 

Berkeley Lab eligibility: Children of LBNL employees are given second priority when it come to enrollment (after UC Berkeley and before general community members). Be sure to indicate your Berkeley Lab affiliation when you apply. 

Through Berkeley Lab’s partnership with Bright Horizons, employees no longer have to miss work when their normal care arrangements are unavailable. Employees have access to a comprehensive national network of childcare centers and in-home providers for child, adult and elder back-up care needs.

UC offers Bright Horizons Enhanced Family Supports, a comprehensive web-based resource, to help you balance work and family responsibilities. The Bright Horizons programs — including Sittercity, Years Ahead, and Bright Horizons preferred enrollment — provide information about pre-screened care providers and services so you can choose the solution that’s right for you.

Be Well at Work - Elder Care Program offers confidential, free assistance to UC Berkeley Faculty and Staff, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory employees who are caring for or concerned about an elder or dependent adult. 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps employees and their family members find solutions to personal and work-related challenges through counseling, consultation, assessment, and referrals. All services are voluntary, confidential, and free of charge.
